Brighton Rock

1. Mise en Scène
arrangement of scenery and properties to represent the place where a play or movie is enacted. it is all about the visual image where the people are whats in the background and it uses all the other techniques to achieve the directors objective from the scene

2. Establishing shot
An establishing shot in film and television sets up, or establishes the context for a scene by showing the relationship between its important figures and objects.

3. Long shot
A shot including objects at a distance

4. Mid shot
Shot which in effect is about midway between a close-up and a long shot.

5. Close-up
A shot including objects at a short 'close up' distance

6. Point-of-view shot
A point of view shot (also known as POV shot or a subjective camera) is a short film scene that shows what a character (the subject) is looking at (represented through the camera).

7. High angle shot
A shot taken from above a subject, creating a sense of "looking down" upon whatever is photographed.

8. Low angle shot
A shot made with the camera below eye level, thereby exaggerating the size and importance of the subject.

Brighton rock

This picture captures the soul of brighton showing the tacky seaside resort and the hazy sun implies that this picture is capturing what goes on after the fun arcades and beaches go dark, the underside of the pier is a main part of the picture and looks a mysterious place which is a bit like the bizarre goings on in the film. The establishing shot makes the background look hazy and mysterious and this is what captures the classic british seaside and underworld in this picture.

A long shot typically shows the entire object or human figure and is usually intended to place it in some relation to its surroundings. It has been suggested that long-shot ranges usually correspond to approximately what would be the distance between the front row of the audience and the stage in live theatre. This image captures a sense of mystery as you cant really see whats going on in the distance, intriguing you into whats happening, the sense of distance makes you feel involved in the picture like your trying to spot them from your seat.

Picture of mick jagger and his car

The 3 elements of this picture, the aston martin car, the run down house with scaffolding and Mick Jagger himself. These things together portray the image of Mick not giving an arrogant expression about everything else, just by the way he is sitting his body language he is cooly lounging on the floor. indicates that to the audience. As he is in a scruffy area with his expensive car and top of the range suit with a facial expression of 'yeah and what' he couldn't care about his things getting ruined and he literally wants to rock and roll. this image is not just a coincidence as it portrays his bad boy image.

The fact that he is in a top the range suit with a new, shiny, expensive car but the house in the background is being built and unlike the other aspects of the picture is not linked to the luxury fame and wealth that Mick Jagger perceives. This picture shows that he has a lot of money and this is shown because he has the car and the suit. The house is almost the opposite to the other aspects of the picture and his facial expression shows that he doesn't care about all the money he has. I think this because if he did then he would be there smiling with a mansion in the background but his body language shows that he has a laid back approach to life and doesn't really care what anybody thinks or has to say.
